No not necessarily, we will only recommend doing work that is necessary. We will diagnose where the leak is coming from and will treat that as cost effectively as possible. If a there are larger problem we will of course advise you if a new roof is required. This tends to be if the felt is degraded, there are untreated roofing battens which have rotted or low quality porous tiles are no longer a protective primary barrier.

We specialise in flat roof repair or re roofs in lead only, as fibreglass or plastic options will inevitably leak due to sun damage. This causes the material to warp, become brittle and split in a short amount of time. Lead is a quality material that expands and contracts with the weather/temperature changes, and when properly installed in sections, with the appropriate thickness of lead (which we call code 4 or 5) you can expect it to last upto 80 years, maintenance free.

Yes, with scaffolding, or a properly secured ladder, pushing in a slipped tile is doable. However we would always suggest getting a local roofing company to check your roof as there might be reasons behind why it has been misplaced, such as rotten battens, corroded nails etc. So an expert eye can diagnose this quickly to prevent further issues and needing scaffolding again, which can be a large part of the expense.

If tiles are in good condition, but the felt and battens need replacing, we can do a re-lay, by refitting the tiles on top of new breathable felt and treated battens. Saving the cost of new tiles and disposing of the old ones.
